Understanding Certifications and Benefits 8a, ED/WOSB, SD/VOSB, HUBZone

Learn about different certifications that could lead to great benefits for your company.

  • 8a certification - for organizations that are owned and controlled at least 51% by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals.

  • ED/WOSB - a small business concern that is at least 51% owned by one or more women and is considered economically disadvantaged.

  • SD/VOSB - a company that is owned (at least 51%) and controlled by a Veteran with a Service-Connected Disability rating from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

  • HUBZone - a company level diversity certification referring to the Historically Underutilized Business Zone program that helps small businesses located in distressed areas gain preferential access to federal procurement opportunities.

The presentation will review the criteria, regulations, qualifications, documentation to support the application for certification and the agency portals and resources through which the firm’s application is submitted.
