NEW MEXICO MBDA BUSINESS CENTER

Procurement Program

The New Mexico Minority Business Development Agency Business Center in collaboration with the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce brings to all small businesses a procurement series program and a procurement summit. These are excellent resources to learn and develop a successful procurement strategy.

Procurement Series

One of the most significant federal initiatives to support the expansion and employment creation of small businesses in the United States is small business contracting. In order to maintain all public and necessary services, including those required for infrastructure, social services, public health, and national security, the federal government must purchase goods and services. A huge source of revenue for small firms is contracting out. The largest client in the world is the American government.

Have you considered working with local Federal and State buying organizations but are unsure where to begin? To take part in our annual Procurement Series, register right away. Small firms seeking to expand and scale their operations through contract opportunities are offered sessions in a hybrid manner (online and in-person).

The procurement Series runs every Tuesday from 2:30pm-4:30pm, for 6 weeks.

Contractors and Suppliers Cyber Requirements

March 9, 2023

Does your company adhere to cybersecurity standards for suppliers and contractors?

Due to their access to private federal information, data, and software, federal contractors, like government institutions, are frequently the target of cyberattacks. Your organization will be better prepared to fight against cyberattacks and help stop the leak of private government data if you maintain compliance with the FAR and related rules. The top 4 cybersecurity criteria for government contractors are shown below. The Department of Defense (DoD) and other government agencies have recently released procurement regulations that place new cybersecurity requirements on contractors.

Here are the top 4 cybersecurity requirements that your organization should be familiar with are:

  • Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA)

  • FAR 52.204-21

  • DOD Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) clause 252.204-7012

  • NIST 800-171; Migration to CMMC (2.0)

Join us for the Annual Procurement Summit 2023 in collaboration with the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce to learn about the cybersecurity requirements for government contractors and suppliers.

The Summit will provide a platform for small businesses to learn what cyber regulations are required to do business with different federal, state, and local governments. Hear from key agencies on their requirements for contractors and suppliers, access to networks, informational sessions, and matchmaking opportunities. This is a FREE event.
